University Crest

Standards JWU Crest Element 1

The university crest may be used as a graphic element in publication design. However, it must only be used in the official blue and/or gold accent colors at 100 percent saturation or as a screened value of the colors. The minimum size it can be used as a graphic element is one inch in diameter.

Changing or distorting the shape of the crest is prohibited (see right). To increase or decrease the size of the crest and other images correctly, consult the help section of the application program you are using.

When used as a graphic element, the crest can break off the edge of document pages, web pages, banners, or other print and electronic materials.

The crest as a graphic element is not a substitute for the full university logo. It is intended to be a design element only. The full color JWU logo is the primary identifier on university publications and documents. In most cases, both elements will be required for proper identification.

As a graphic element, the crest adds visual interest to all media. With a white background, the crest can be used in the official blue, gold accent or black at full strength or as a screened value. When used with the official blue or gold accent backgrounds at full strength, the crest can print reversed white, or as a screened value of blue or gold accent, respectively. View examples (592K PDF)
