Page Editors

Page editors for JWU Magazine maintain and raise the profile of this signature publication internally and externally. They are assigned to certain departments within JWU Magazine based on their expertise in a particular area of the university.

Page editors gather, form and shape the content, choose stories and write in a manner best representing the overall goals and objectives of the magazine.

This signature publication is edited by Cathy Sengel, editor.

Roles and Responsibilities
Work with the publisher and editor to generate content ideas, plan the artwork, illustrations and photos that go within their assigned department(s), and identify volunteer authors.

Send out briefs of work to content providers across the university (with a detailed summary of what is needed, the deadline, theme, etc.).

Fact-check and verify research numbers in submissions to the editor to ensure the magazine remains a credible source of information within and outside the university community.

Edit articles submitted by content sources and proofread completed pages.

Work with the editor and designer to uphold the production schedule and the magazine’s visual, graphic and editorial style.

Participate in meetings, work sessions and conference calls.
