The university logo reflects the evolution of Johnson & Wales University and its nearly 100-year tradition of academic achievement. The university logo is the primary identifier for Johnson & Wales University. It must appear on all university internal and external publications, correspondence, signage and documents. It is used on material produced by university and campus administrations and departments as well as academic programs. The university logo consists of two elements: a graphic symbol, the crest, derived from the university seal; and the university name. The crest is a two-color imprint, using the official blue (PMS 662) and gold accent (PMS 124) colors. The upper “dragon graphic,” taken from the flag of Wales, is placed on a white background. The lower blue and gold cross is taken from the Johnson family crest. The second element in the logo, the university name, is printed in black in the Johnson & Wales proprietary font.
The logo elements must not be altered in any way. See Usage for specific applications.
NOTE: The preferred configuration for the university logo is the horizontal format as shown, and should always be displayed as such. The alternate, “stacked” version (also shown) is reserved for specific architectural applications, or for print related format constraints. Any variation to the horizontal format requires advance approval from the university’s Design Review Committee. Secondary SignaturesColleges and campuses can identify themselves more clearly in printed communications by attaching their names as shown (above right). Administrative, academic and other campus departments may also identify themselves by the addition of a second line to the college or campus identity. These variations of the university logo are authorized for use on stationery, memos, print publications and other correspondence. For signage, posters and other campus event media, the campus department can be used in place of the campus name (below right). Other applications must be reviewed by the Design Review Committee prior to implementation..
