Marian Gagnon is a teacher of writing, literature, and speech at Johnson & Wales University where she developed and teaches two Arts & Sciences electives: (1) Introduction to newswriting, and (2) Visual Literacy and the Sociology of Perception. For many years she worked as a reporter and editor for newspapers and magazines throughout New England and Central Ohio. Before teaching she spent a decade as JWU’s Director of Public Relations.

Gagnon is also a writer, director, and producer of documentaries. Her first documentary, HERstory: The Founding Mothers of Johnson & Wales University, was produced in 2004, and nominated for a New England Emmy.
