JWU is dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations for students with learning disabilities, physical challenges or chronic medical conditions to help them succeed in their academic pursuits.
To request services you must provide the Center for Academic Support with the required documentation for your disability. Documentation usually only needs to be submitted once and you are encouraged to submit it at the beginning of your online program. Please review the Documentation Guidelines for Learning Disabilities (PDF) and Verification of Disability Form (PDF) (ADHD/Psychiatric, Chronic Medical and/or other health impaired).
Please attach the Documentation Submission for Online Students Cover Sheet (Word) to the documentation being submitted. Complete documentation should be sent to Meryl Berstein: email meryl.berstein@jwu.edu, fax 401-598-4657 (attn: Meryl Berstein), or mail to Meryl Berstein, c/o Johnson & Wales University, 8 Abbott Park Place, Providence, RI 02903.
You will be notified via email of receipt of your documentation and of the completeness of your documentation. If the documentation is incomplete, you will receive a list of additional information that is needed.
Accommodations must be requested for each course. Although you may request an accommodation at any time, you are encouraged to request accommodations at least two weeks before a course begins. It may take up to two weeks from the date of receipt of the request for each instructor to be notified of the accommodations you request.
If you have questions, contact Meryl Berstein.
