Johnson & Wales University : Withdrawal

Withdrawal

If you withdraw  from a registered course after the add/drop period, but remain registered for at least one other course, your course instructor will issue a grade of WP, WF or W in order to record attempted credits. Please note that a tuition credit will not be issued; full charges continue to be applied. Also, course withdrawals are not permitted after the withdrawal deadline.

To proceed with a course withdrawal, review the Online Campus Student Handbook and contact your counselor in Student Academic & Financial Services.

It is your responsibility to notify Student Academic & Financial Services in person or in writing (via JWU e-mail, fax or letter) of your intent to withdraw from a course.

Discontinuing attendance or notifying an instructor does not constitute an official course withdrawal. You must officially withdraw from a course by the course withdrawal deadline otherwise you will not be permitted to withdraw from the course and will be graded accordingly. Please note not showing up for class is not considered an official withdrawal.

Withdrawal from a Term or All Courses
University withdrawal is defined as a complete withdrawal from all classes in a term after the Add/Drop period. A complete withdrawal before the beginning of the term start date will result in no financial responsibility for that term.

Withdrawal from the university after the start of the term will result in tuition charges in accordance with the Tuition & Fees Credit Policy. If you withdraw after the Add/Drop period you will be issued a grade of WP, WP or W by the course instructor in order to record attempted credits.

It is your responsibility to notify Student Academic & Financial Services in person or in writing (via JWU e-mail, fax or letter) of your intent to withdraw from the university.

The date the withdrawal notification is received (or the postmark date of withdrawal requests submitted by mail) shall be the date used in determining the refund of fees, if applicable, in accordance with the Tuition & Fees Credit Policy which applies to all types of withdrawals from the university, voluntary or involuntary.

If you do not officially withdraw will remain registered for all courses and will be graded accordingly. Discontinuing attendance or notifying an instructor does not constitute an official university withdrawal.
