Community Members Invited to Participate on Sunday, October 18, 2009, at 9amDENVER – Johnson & Wales University’s Wildcat Wellness program will sponsor a 5K Fun Run & Walk on Sun, Oct 18, 2009, at 9am, at Stapleton Center Park. Scheduled during JWU’s Family Weekend, faculty, students, their parents and their siblings are invited along with individuals and families from the greater community. All are encouraged to participate; it will be a stroller and dog-friendly event. Runners, joggers and walkers will start the race on the corner of MLK Boulevard and Xenia Street in Stapleton Center Park. The course is contained within the park to promote better safety measures. In return for a $10 race fee, participants will receive a t-shirt and will be eligible to win various prizes. The run will coincide with the launch the new JWU men and women’s varsity cross-country teams who began competition this fall. Its sponsor, the JWU Wildcat Wellness program, fosters the holistic health and wellness of the community and includes physical, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual and financial activities.
