Arrival services for J-1 students looking for off-campus housing include a complimentary stay of up to two nights at the Radisson Hotel. Students who will live on-campus will be taken directly to their residence hall. To secure your stay, you must first make reservations and submit a completed travel request form by the required due date. If you are living on campus, you will only be allowed to move into your assigned residence hall during residence hall check-in dates. Arrange your travel plans accordingly to avoid unexpected hotel charges. Complimentary rooms are only available from Sun to Wed and are subject to availability. If you arrive on Thu, Fri or Sat, you will be required to pay for the room. Stays that extend beyond the two free nights will also incur room charges. Weekend arrivals are strongly discouraged because university staff is not available to assist with arrival services. If you arrive prior to or after the hotel availability dates, transportation and housing services may not be available. Family or friends who want to stay at a JWU hotel facility may reserve a room, if available, but this will not be considered part of the complimentary stay extended to new international students. New students who choose to stay in the same room with family or friends will be responsible for the full cost of the room. You will be asked to provide a credit card number upon arrival to cover any additional nights or incidentals (such as phone calls) during your complimentary stay. If you do not have a major credit card, you must sign a contract assuming financial responsibility for extra nights and costs incurred during your hotel stay. You will share your room with up to two other new international students. Smoking is not allowed in the guest rooms. Once you secure a residence hall assignment or off-campus apartment, you will be directed as to when to check out.
