Quality health care is important at JWU. Providing an accurate health record (such as allergies you have, personal and family history, and emergency contact information) ensures that the staff in Health Services can provide you with the best service possible.
Before you arrive in the US, all health forms and requirements, including immunizations, must be completed and returned to Health Services.
Failure to submit these documents will result in a Health Services Hold being applied to your student record. This hold will prohibit you from enrolling in classes at JWU. In addition, if you do not submit this documentation and you are a resident student (living in a residence hall), your housing assignment will be revoked. This will result in you being placed in any available room on campus if/when all holds have been removed from your record. Health Insurance Full-time enrolled students are provided a minimal health insurance package by the university. However, as a J-1 student, the government requires you have a more comprehensive health insurance plan. Please see the blue government “Welcome Brochure” and arrange for a supplementary health insurance plan for the duration of your stay in the US.
