Arrival Services

JWU’s North Miami Campus offers special arrival services to international students, including

  • Pick-up services from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale airports to hotel
  • Complimentary hotel stay of two nights
  • International student orientation and welcome activities
  • Off-campus housing assistance
  • Shopping trips for apartment and residence hall setup

Transportation reservations are required for complimentary pick-up services and accommodations. In order to ensure full access to these services, you must submit the travel request form (66K PDF) to our office by the following dates:

  • Spring 2013 Term: Feb 1, 2013
  • Summer 2013 Term: Apr 26, 2013

Email or fax the completed form to ISS at +1 305-892-7020.

Once we receive your travel form, a reservation will be arranged for you at the hotel (depending on availability). Failure to fulfill these requirements may result in additional costs and a reduction in services.

Arrival Locations
Please note that we do not provide transportation from any airports other than the ones listed below.

Miami International Airport: Report to the baggage claim area, located on the lower level of the airport, where you will be met by a JWU representative.

Ft. Lauderdale International Airport: Report to the baggage claim area, where you will be met by a JWU representative.

Late or Delayed Arrivals
If your travel plans change due to a cancelled or delayed arrival, contact us during normal business hours at 305-892-7060. We will make our best effort to accommodate your needs. However, we cannot guarantee transportation or room reservations for last-minute changes.

If you arrive in Miami after 9pm (21:00hrs), you will have to take a taxi to the University. Taxis are available outside the bus and train terminals and will cost you approximately $45 from the Miami Airport and $60 from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport.
