Pre-Arrival Checklist 1) Application Requirements: All application documents that are required as part of your application. 2) I-901 SEVIS Fee: Pay this one-time fee initiated by the US federal government. 3) J-1 Visa: Apply at your US Embassy using the DS2019 form and letter of invitation from Johnson & Wales University. 4) Academic Course Selection: Courses do fill up quickly; the earlier you apply the better selection you will have. 5) Housing Options: Both on and off campus. 6) Health Records: Make sure that you have completed all required health requirements and submitted proper documentation. 7) Health Insurance: Arrange for supplementary health insurance as specified in the Exchange Visitor Program Welcome Brochure mailed with your DS2019. 8) Tuition and Fees: When, where and how to pay your tuition, room and board, and various fees.
Arrival Checklist To help your arrival in the US run smoothly. 1) Arrival Services: Book your airline ticket and send a completed Travel Request Form to ISS, enabling you to take advantage of our complimentary pick-up services. 2) Hotel Stay: Complimentary rooms are only available from Sun to Wed and are subject to availability.
