Polis Auditorium. Akerson prosecuted war crimes, crimes of genocide and crimes against humanity in the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda. Akerson is now a Visiting Scholar at the University of Denver Korbel School of International Studies and an adjunct professor at the university’s Sturm College of Law as he works on his Ph.D. from the National University of Ireland, Galway. As an expert in international tribunals, Akerson will speak specifically about his experience as a prosecutor of the Rwandan genocide.
