Susan Hirst began her teaching career at Johnson & Wales University in 1998. Since 2000 she has been a member of the Collaborative Learning Program, an inter-disciplinary learning community comprised of professors from both the College of Arts & Sciences English Department and the College of Business.Hirst has presented at numerous conferences, both locally and nationally. In addition she was honored as Arts & Sciences Teacher of the Year in 2006-07. She is a long-standing member of the Outcomes Assessment Committee and the Cultural Life Committee among others, and is a member of several professional organizations as well.
