If you want to teaching culinary arts, our Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program prepares you to apply for a dual certification in Food Service Education. The MAT program is offered through our Graduate School at the Providence Campus.
Program OverviewThe MAT cohort program begins in September and follows a prescribed sequence of courses for approximately 18 months. The cohesive curriculum is designed to build on the foundation of preceding course work.
In keeping with JWU’s core value of experientially-based learning, the MAT program has adopted an essential and unique fieldwork component to the program.
While learning about research-based theories and best practices in university classrooms, you will also observe and apply what you’ve learned on a weekly basis in K-12 classrooms.
Food Service Education and Secondary Special EducationThrough one student teaching experience in an integrated setting, you’ll be eligible to pursue licensure in Food Service Education and Secondary Special Education.
