State Aid

Johnson & Wales University participates regularly in the following Florida state aid programs. To be considered, you must complete the FAFSA.

Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG)Funded by the Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA), this grant is awarded to full-time North Miami Campus day program students who meet the Florida residency and financial need requirements of OSFA. There is no application to complete and qualified students are awarded up to $1,000 per academic year. This is a non-renewable award; the FAFSA must be completed before April 15 in order to be considered for eligibility.

Florida Bright Futures Scholarship ProgramIncludes the Florida Academic Scholars Award, the Florida Medallion Scholars Award and the Florida Gold Seal Endorsement Award. Funded by the Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) and administered cooperatively with JWU, these merit based programs are renewable, based on specific criteria set by OSFA, and are awarded to day program students attending the North Miami Campus. Contact your high school guidance office or OSFA for eligibility requirements and applications before April 1 of their senior year.

Florida Access to Better Learning and Education Grant Program (ABLE)
Funded by the Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) and administered cooperatively with JWU, this non-need based program is awarded to eligible full-time day program students attending the North Miami Campus. You must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree and meet the eligibility criteria as determined by OSFA and the university. The FAFSA must be completed before April 15 to be considered for eligibility. The grant amount varies depending on the allocation of funds for that year.
