Perkins

The Federal Perkins loan is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and meet Johnson & Wales University’s March 1 priority FAFSA deadline. The university serves as the lender and the loan is made with government funds; repayment is made to JWU. Upon acceptance of this loan, students must complete an entrance interview.

Highlights of this loan are:

• Made through JWU to undergraduate degree students.
• Offered by JWU to students who demonstrate financial need.
• Made to students enrolled full-time or part-time.
• Repaid to JWU by the student.
• Carries a five percent interest rate during repayment.
• Nine month grace period prior to repayment following graduation, withdrawal, or dropping below half-time status; an exit interview is required as well.
