Compete on Campus Every year, culinary and baking & pastry students compete against one another at the Intra-Campus Culinary Competition (ICC), hosted at one of JWU’s four campuses. Go for the Global Gold Held every four years in Efurt, Germany, the IKA/Culinary Olympics are one of the most prestigious competitions in the world — and one of the most challenging. Students from all campuses work alongside JWU chef-instructors to create show-stopping hot and cold platters. Due to the high level of skill required, this is recommended for juniors and seniors. Brew It Up The annual Ocean State Homebrew Competition is aimed at home brewers of fine beers, ciders and meads. It is hosted and organized by JbreW, the Providence Campus’ brewing club. Recipe for Success Often focusing on single ingredients or a particular genre of food, recipe competitions happen throughout the year and often include cash prizes or scholarships. They’re also great additions to any culinary resume. Recent competitions include the S&D Coffee’s Tea Recipe Contest and the Vegetarian Times Chef’s Challenge.
