Ocean State Homebrew Competition

The Ocean State Homebrew Competition (OSHC) is Rhode Island’s only statewide competition for homebrewers of fine beers, ciders and meads, and is hosted and organized by JbreW, JWU’s brewing club.

The first annual OSHC took place in 2011, at JWU’s Cuisinart Center for Culinary Excellence. The OSHC is sanctioned by the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) and the American Homebrewers’ Association (AHA).

The OSHC is a nonprofit event, with all proceeds used to offset the costs of the event and awards. Event sponsors make a huge difference by donating their time, monetary support and goods to help JbreW and the OSHC promote home brewing in Rhode Island and throughout the region. If you or someone you know would like to participate as a sponsor (211K PDF), please contact our event coordinator.

Please direct any inquiries to event organizer Jennifer Pereira, associate instructor at the College of Culinary Arts and JbreW faculty advisor.
