North Miami, Fla. - March 10, 2011 - On April 1, "Top Chef" winner Kevin Sbraga ’03 returns to the North Miami Campus as part of the College of Culinary Arts’ Distinguished Visiting Chef (DVC) Series. Last September, Sbraga beat out NYC chefs Ed Cotton and Angelo Sosa to win the 7th season of the top-rated Bravo reality show. Head judge Tom Colicchio called Sbraga’s menu "the best we’ve had in any finale — ever." As part of his visit, Sbraga will tour the school, conduct culinary demos, and prepare a four course dinner to benefit the university's scholarship fund. The dinner will include commentary from Chef Sbraga before each course, and the presentation of a Distinguished Visiting Chef scholarship to a student from the College of Culinary Arts.
The DVC dinner is on April 1 at 7pm, with a pre-dinner reception beginning at 6pm. Tickets are $85. For tickets or more information, call Irene Coroalles at 305-892-7578.
