Health & Wellness Center
The Health and Wellness Center is open to all JWU students. Patients need to present a valid student ID at the time of service.
JWU provides its students with free, comprehensive primary healthcare and prevention services, including:
- Mental health counseling
- Physicals
- Diagnosis and treatment of illness
- Prescription refills
- Medication maintenance
- Wound care
- Limited vaccinations (does not include: MMR, Meningitis, Hepatitis A)
- Referrals to specialists
- STD education and testing
- Management of primary care issues such as hypertension, diabetes, thyroid issues, depression, acne, migraines
The center is staffed by a part-time mid-level provider such as a physician's assistant, nurse practitioner and a medical assistant.
A licensed professional counselor is available by appointment for direct clinical services including assessment, brief treatment, referral, and crisis intervention.
