Before joining the faculty at Johnson & Wales University, Phyllis Plunkett worked in the fashion and retail management industries. She worked at Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus, and was a knit designer for St. John Knits. Her fashion expertise lies in the design and construction of ladies’ fine apparel, specializing in Chanel, Giorgio Armani and Gucci. She has worked in sales, management, merchandise buying, client relations, and visual merchandising. She has planned and executed fashion shows and personal appearances for fashion designers. Prior to coming to JWU, Plunkett taught at The New England Institute of Art and Mount Ida College as a Fashion/Retail Management Instructor.
