Elizabeth VanPatten joined the faculty in 2011 and specializes in Tradeshow /Exposition Management, Weddings and Ceremonies, Fundraising & Philanthropy, and Coaching & Athletic Administration.
Prior to joining The Hospitality College, VanPatten was the Career Advisor for the Sports, Entertainment and Event Management students in Experiential Education & Career Services at the Providence Campus.
VanPatten brings a successful tenure in both professional sports and non-profit management with the New England Patriots and the Women’s Sports Foundation. Her event management expertise also includes an Event position at Johnson & Wales University, where she planned and executed all career fairs that the University held.She has also been a committed advocate for interscholastic and intercollegiate athletics.
As a student at St. John’s University, VanPatten received an athletic scholarship for the Women’s Track & Field team and earned such honors as All-Big East, joined the ranks of the St. John’s University Track & Field All-Time roster in the discus throw, and was chosen as an NCAA Academic All-American. She currently volunteers her time in the world of Track & Field on both the collegiate and interscholastic level, and serves on the Advisory Council for St. Mary’s Academy-Bay View.
VanPatten is an active member of the New England chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), and currently serves as the Editor of their quarterly chapter magazine “Meetings”; reaching roughly 5,000 meetings industry professionals and students.
