Heineken Marketing Intern Takes on NYC

Kanye West’s birthday, working the US Open — sure, says JWU student Sabrina, this internship has its perks. "If you told me freshman year I’d work at a beer company, I’d probably laugh. But being thrown right into the mix and hands-on with projects, I’m learning more about marketing then I ever could in the classroom!"

1. Think Young, Think Different I’m more about Heineken’s brand for their humor, taste in music and style. Last night, we did a surprise concert with TV on the Radio.

2. Kanye West’s Birthday My first week, I worked at Kanye’s birthday concert! Heineken sponsored it. I worked the guests, many of whom were winners from Facebook. 

3. Was That Here Yesterday? I was at our launch for this SOHO pop up lounge, The Spot to make sure the branding was shown properly. It was really cool to see how it went from paper and pictures to actually being live, and seeing how the consumers reacted.

4. Planning Ahead for Matt & Kim, Girl Talk I went to Terminal 5, where the kick off concert for the US Open will be. We discussed the tickets, where the VIP will be located, food and other details.

5. Ad Campaigns, from Scratch The new Heineken Light ad program is mostly surrounding social media. We met with the talent agency, production company and advertising agency — I learned how much a group effort it is to produce a successful campaign!
