Before coming to Johnson & Wales University, Christos Dimos investigated the function of the Cellulose Synthase Like-D (CSLD) gene family in the moss Physcomitrella patens at the University of Rhode Island.

Dimos has experience with many molecular biology techniques including: Northern and Southern Blots, affinity cytochemistry, florescent microscopy, morphometric analysis, transient RNAi systems, moss transformation, vector design and construction, and Reverse Transcriptase quantitative PCR. Techniques from Dimos' research were published in Out the Wall: Protocols For Gene Targeting in Physcomitrella patens.

Dimos and his family have olive, orange and kiwi farms in his father's native country of Greece and he travels there each summer, using his understanding of biological processes to help his family make their farms more organic and sustainable.
