PROVIDENCE, RI – November 23, 2011 – With plenty to be thankful for, Johnson & Wales University students, faculty and staff gathered yesterday to serve people who might not have a Thanksgiving meal.
Providence Mayor Angel Taveras joined Campus President Mim Runey on the serving line.
Along with over 100 volunteers from the JWU community, they dished out turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and apple pie.
When we started our annual "Thanksgiving Dinner for Those in Need" 20 years ago, the university served 400 meals.
This year, we served over 1,100 people in the Providence community.
