Certified by the Japan America Institute of Management Science in Japanese Management and by Cornell University in the Japanese language, John Varlaro has worked as a consultant, focusing on strategic human resources, knowledge management and East Asian Management. Varlaro was a main-stage presenter at the 2010 Providence Business Expo and has been featured twice as a speaker during Rhode Island’s Minority Enterprise Development Week. Varlaro is the faculty advisor for the Johnson & Wales University Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, and is the advisor for the South Korea Study Abroad Program. A member of the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Varlaro is also actively involved with Human Resource People & Strategy, the Human Capital Institute, and the Society for Human Resource Management. He is also a member of the Academy of Management and the Academy of Political Science.
