JWU to Participate in Emergency Drill Fri, Apr 20

PROVIDENCE, RI - On Friday, April 20, 2012, Johnson & Wales University will participate in an Emergency Response Exercise being conducted to test coordination between the Providence Campus and response agencies from the City of Cranston and the State of Rhode Island.

The major component of the exercise, scheduled to begin at approximately 9am, will first take place at the Harbor View residence hall and then later that morning on the Harborside Campus.

Students who live on and near the campus, as well as our neighbors and nearby businesses, will see a significant level of activity, including many response vehicles (police, fire, rescue), in the vicinity of and on our campus.

This is just a drill.

All classes, activities and events for Fri, Apr 20 will be held as scheduled. All facilities at the Harborside Campus and Harbor View will be open without disruption.

Questions regarding the Fri, Apr 20 exercise may be directed to Christopher Harwood, director of Emergency Management at JWU, 401-598-2668, or JWU Campus Safety & Security at 401-598-1103.
