As Dean of the Hospitality College at the Providence Campus, Michael Petrillose is responsible for the daily management of The College. This includes overseeing the quality of instruction, ensuring fiscal responsibility and conducting long-range planning for the College and its various programs, faculty and students.Before coming to Johnson & Wales University, Petrillose served for six years as dean of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Delhi. Prior to his appointment as dean at SUNY, he served on the faculty at both SUNY and the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Las Vegas. Petrillose's industry experience includes work as the Regional Vice President of Operations for Regis Hotel Corporation and Corporate President Neighborhood Inns of Chicago, director of hotel operations at the Continental Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and as a consultant for Mohegan Sun Resorts, Sandals, MGM Grand Hotel & Resort, and the Tropicana.
He is a member of Eta Sigma Delta; Phi Upsilon Omicron; Kappa Omicron Nu; Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (CHRIE); National Restaurant Association (NRA); Cornell University Ye Hosts Honorary Society; Cornell University Hotel Society, and Hotel Sales Management Association (HSMA).Petrillose’s academic accomplishments include several publications in the area of customer service, hospitality management issues, and grant work. He has worked with many graduate students on their theses and papers.
