JWU Hosts Startup Weekend

PROVIDENCE, RI - Oct 9, 2012 - It was a 54-hour frenzy for our students this weekend. Johnson & Wales University hosted Startup Weekend Providence, where 100+ aspiring entrepreneurs brainstormed ideas to expand the city’s business and startup communities.

A JWU grad helped create the worldwide phenomenon 5 years ago — now it’s come full circle, with the next generation of JWU entrepreneurs leading the way.

Participants vote for the top ideas, than form teams around them. Then it’s a frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation.

Our students got to present to local entrepreneurial leaders as the weekend ends, another opportunity for critical feedback.
