JWU Charlotte Lady Wildcats Earn Top USCAA Student-Athlete Honors
Eight Lady Wildcats have been recognized by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) for their achievements both on the volleyball court and in the classroom.
Lauren Cordts, Chelsi Gallagher, Kristen Hall, Stephanie Harris, Emily Kirchner, and Shanna Stewart were named Academic All-Americans, an award that honors high academic achievement among participating USCAA volleyball schools.
It is the second consecutive Academic All-American award for Gallagher, Hall, Harris, Kircher and Stewart, making them the first athletes in Charlotte Campus to be so honored twice.
Freshman Moriah Hughes made the USCAA’s list of “Players to Watch,” as well as Second Team All-American. She ranks 11th nationally in total points/game, and 8th in points/set.
Sophomore Kaitlin Kuntz garnered an Honorable Mention. She ranked in the top 5 nationally in 3 different statistical categories, including 5th in total assists.
The Lady Wildcats wrapped up their 2012 season at the USCAA National Championship Volleyball Tournament in Canton, NY.
