Born in Baden Bei Wien, Austria, Emmerich Zach was classically trained in Baden, Salzburg and Vienna. After emigrating to the United States, he worked as a baker and cake decorator in Philadelphia and eventually opened his own pastry shop, specializing in cake designs and confections. Zach’s work has been featured on television and in numerous magazine and newspaper articles. Zach was also a member of the faculty at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and served as an Adjunct Guest Instructor at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College.After moving to Denver Zach worked as a wedding cake designer for Gourmet Fine Catering and Centerplate at the Colorado Convention and Denver Performing Arts Complex, before joining the faculty at Johnson & Wales University.
