Mark Duston joined the faculty of Johnson & Wales University in 1992, and teaches developmental mathematics, and the instruction of mathematics via the Internet. In addition he has created and administered the JWU Annual Mathematics Contest and activities in support of Mathematics Awareness Month each April since 1993.

Duston’s past research interests include underwater acoustics, differential equations, computer symbolic algebra and computer modeling. He worked at the Naval Underwater Systems Center in New London, CT as a mathematician while on several American Society for Engineering Education Summer Fellowships.
