Marcella Giannasio joined the faculty of Johnson & Wales University in 1997, where she teaches Essentials of Dining Room and Advanced Dining Room.Marcella Giannasio earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and a master’s degree in Management from Southern Wesleyan University. Prior to teaching at JWU, she worked for Orient Express at the Charleston Place Hotel. Giannasio has taught classes in both culinary arts and general studies. She has a Foodservice Management Professional certification through the National Restaurant Association and a Certified Hospitality Educator Certificate. In 2008, she became the first woman to receive certification as a Hospitality Grand Master from the Federation of Dining Room Professionals. Giannasio has taught and supervised students abroad in Koblenz, Germany at the Deutsche Wein und Sommelierschule. Giannasio also holds an advanced certificate for wine through WSET.
