Janice Taraborelli joined the Johnson & Wales University faculty in 1999, and in 2001 she was recognized for her outstanding teaching by the Conference on College Composition and Communication.

Prior to joining the staff of JWU, Taraborelli served as a consultant to educators in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and as a writing assessment consultant for the Rhode Island State Department of Education. She was also a visiting lecturer at Rhode Island College and holds professional teaching certificates in English, history, and Italian.

Taraborelli is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English, the New England council of Teachers of English, Conference on College Composition and Communication, Modern Language Association, American Association of University Women, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Colorado Language Arts Society, and the Fulbright Alumni Association.
