Chef Donald Brizes joined the faculty of Johnson & Wales University in 2005.Brizes received his master’s degree in Secondary Education from The University of Akron, Ohio. He joins the Charlotte Campus from Pittsburgh, Pa., where, for 6 years, he was the Director of Continuing Education at the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute. In addition, Brizes taught in the associate degree program at The University of Akron, while holding the Executive Chef position for the Martin University Center. Brizes spent more than 27 years working in the Cleveland-Akron area restaurant and hotel industry. Brizes also holds a bachelor’s degree in Education and an associate degree in Hotel Restaurant Management. He has been a member of the American Culinary Federation since 1994, and holds professional certification from them.
