Allison Acquisto came to Johnson & Wales University in 1998, where she teaches classes in nutrition and food safety. Prior to joining JWU’s staff, Acquisto worked for Women’s Health Initiative as a nutrition group leader, and was also a clinical dietitian with Marriott Healthcare.Acquisto works with Kids First, an organization focused on nutrition education activities for school communities, as a nutrition consultant and program coordinator.
She is also a member of the Rhode Island Dietetic Association, which named her Young Dietician of the Year in 2000. She was also the recipient of the 2009 Nutrition Service Award.
