Tim Cameron joined the Norfolk Campus in 1989 and has served in faculty and administrative roles in both the College of Culinary Arts and The Hospitality College, where he was Department Chair from 2003 until his relocation to Charlotte in 2006.
During his service at the Norfolk Campus, Cameron was selected four times for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
Cameron holds a master’s degree in Humanities from Old Dominion University where his area of research focused on the indigenous plants which formed a major part of the diet of the Powhatan Indians of Virginia.
Cameron has numerous years of industry experience as a chef, including Executive Chef positions at the Wintergreen Resort and the Omni Charlottesville, Chef de Cuisine at Bull Alley in Charlottesville, and Sous Chef at the Williamsburg Inn. He was a founding member of the American Culinary Federation’s Charlottesville (VA) chapter, served as chapter president and was elected ACF Blue Ridge Chef of the Year in 1987.
