Michael Makuch joined the faculty at Johnson & Wales University in 2007, where he teaches nutrition and sensory analysis in the Culinary Nutrition Program. He was the recipient of the 2011 Robert M. Nograd Teacher of the Year Award and the 2009 Outstanding Service Award.Prior to joining the staff at JWU, Makuch served as a Community Service Educator at the University's Community Service Learning Center, where he created the "You Can" Healthy Cooking and Captain Nutrition Enrichment Programs, designed to teach the importance of diet and exercise as it pertains to a healthy lifestyle.
