Mary Etta Moorachian relocated to the Charlotte Campus from Charleston, where she was an academic nutrition instructor for eight years. In 2004, she earned the title of full professor. She holds a doctorate degree from Texas Woman’s University.

Moorachian is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Culinary Professional. She has extensive experience in higher education including serving as Program Director for Dietetic Education Programs. She has maintained professional involvement and was recognized with professional development awards from JWU for 2001, 2002 and 2003.

Most recently, she served as president for the South Carolina Dietetic Association and Educational Programs Director for the Food and Culinary Professionals Practice Group. She coordinated Healthy Athletes activities for the S.C. Special Olympics winter games and served on the Habitat for Humanity Board in Watauga County, N.C.
