Before joining the International Hotel School faculty, Jane Boyland was a faculty member in the Center for Food and Beverage Management (at JWU) and also served as liaison between The Hospitality College and the university’s hotel properties. Boyland’s professional work experience includes management positions as Food and Beverage Controller, Beverage Manager, Restaurant/Club Manager and Front Office Manager for both Sheraton and Days Inn hotel companies. Boyland is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and has a certification as a Foodservice Management Professional (FMP). She also is certified as a facilitator for the DACUM process for curriculum development. She has made frequent presentations at international, national and regional conferences related to both industry and educational best practices, especially outcomes assessment. Additionally, Boyland authored a study guide for a widely used hospitality marketing textbook. In addition to frequently teaching overseas during the college’s summer abroad programs, Boyland has participated in a faculty internship with Houston’s Restaurants and was awarded a faculty work study grant by the National Restaurant Association.
