Prior to joining the staff at JWU, Tranter taught in the Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management program and in the Women’s College, both at the University of Denver. She also worked for Sage Hospitality Resources in Denver and for Courtyard by Marriott Clarion, Registry, Radisson, and Holiday Inn properties. Since 1994 she has owned and operated Tranter Resources Hospitality Executive Search and Marketing Services, recruiting and consulting for a variety of hospitality organizations.
Tranter serves on the board of the Denver Chapter of Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association and the Scholarship Chair for the Front Range Chapter of Hospitality Technology and Financial Professionals and serves on the scholarship committee for Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association.
