Michael Sabitoni is department chair for The Center for International Travel and Tourism Studies and The Center of Food & Beverage Management. He holds a master’s degree in Hospitality Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management; he is also a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE).

Sabitoni is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of The International Society of Travel & Tourism Educators (ISTTE). He formerly served as the organization's president from 2006-2010 and vice president from 2003-05, as well as on the board of directors from 1997-2003. He also is on the Board of Directors for the RI Hospitality Association. Sabitoni has served on the National Tourism Foundation Educational Advisory Council and has developed curriculum for the National Academy Foundation and several colleges and universities throughout the United States.

A frequent speaker on quality assurance in the hospitality industry, Sabitoni works as an outside consultant for related tourism and food industry companies. He has professional experience as an international tour director, with companies including American Express Travel. He has also held various management positions within the food service industry, and is the recipient of numerous awards, including The Visiting Scholar Award from the National Tour Association.
