Michael Childers spent five years in private practice with Hedrick Eatman Gardner and Kincheloe in Charlotte, North Carolina and Raymond James Financial, Inc. in St. Petersburg, Florida. He represented several Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies and his areas of practice were in employment litigation, civil litigation, and constitutional law. He has filed briefs and presented oral arguments before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court, as well as, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2008 Michael was admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
Michael provides consulting services to companies in the areas of contract negotiations and human resource policies and practices in addition to his teaching responsibilities at Johnson & Wales University. He has written articles and made conference presentations in the areas of workers’ compensation law, trial techniques, employment law and constitutional law. He is also an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
