The City

imgFCM City DEN 170x150Rated "the most desirable big city to call home" by the Pew Research Center; "America's 2nd most popular city to line in" by a Harris Poll; a "top destination for recent college graduates" by CareerCast; and "the top city in America to live and work" by Forbes, Denver continues to enjoy a surge of growth and success.

Though it is considered a western city, Denver is actually located on a high, rolling plain in the center of the country. With the exception of Kansas City, Denver is closer to the exact center of the continental United States than any other metropolitan area. The city boasts one of the country’s best climates, with an annual average of 300 days of sunshine, and also features the nation’s largest city park system with more than 650 miles of paved bike trails—not to mention the nearby resort towns of Aspen and Vail, two of the premier U.S. skiing destinations.

Denver is also a sports and recreation hot spot. The city offers more than 70 golf courses in the area. Within an hour's drive there are opportunities for winter sports, river running, hiking, fishing, camping, horseback riding and mountain biking. In addition, Denver has a full complement of professional sports teams, including the Nuggets, the Rockies, and the world champion Avalanche and Broncos.

Denver has a dry and arid climate. Winters are mild with an average daily high of 45°F. Snow does fall, but because of Denver's altitude and the dry climate, it usually melts in a short period of time. Due to Denver's dry relative humidity, the average summer and fall temperatures are in the 80s.
