JWU North Miami : Arts & Sciences : Honors Program

Honors Program

The Honors Program gives academically talented students an enriched, stimulating learning opportunity at JWU. Honors students explore engaging, challenging coursework, as well as exciting career and education opportunities outside the classroom.

Potential benefits include preference for on-campus interviews, membership in various national honor societies, tutorial positions, resident assistant positions and early graduation through accelerated coursework.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will have an Honors designation on your diploma and transcript and walk with Honors regalia at graduation.

Requirements
You must have maintained a B+ or better average and achieved ACT/SAT scores above the national average or equivalent.

Coursework
Depending on your field of study, Honors courses may include Quantitative Analysis, Honors English Composition, Honors Communication Skills, Honors Economics, Honors Leadership and others.

All classes on the North Miami Campus are eligible to be taken as Honors designation and are assigned as H-Option. SHARP-eligible applicants may also register for H-Option courses.

Applying
We encourage applicants to enter during the fall term of their freshman year. If you do not enter the university as an Honors Student, you may still apply for the Honors Program if you have a 3.4 grade point average after your first term.
