As a leader in career education, JWU encourages you to apply leadership and career skills to real-life community settings. An important part of the JWU approach is to teach and motivate you to understand the role you’ll play as a citizen in the work of community building and problem solving. The university seeks to model community leadership as an institution, by taking an active role in developing collaborative civic initiatives to link university resources with community needs. Community leadership is encouraged among faculty, staff, administration and departments through targeted training, service experiences and partnering relationships in the community. All service-learning projects are organized and operated through the Office of Student Activities.
