After her internship at Fortune 100 company TIAA-CREF, JWU accounting student Candice was hired full-time as a Performance Reporting Analyst II at the company.
Here's what she has to say about her internship:
My Finance & Actuarial InternshipBy Candice Benson ‘11TIAA-CREFManagement Accounting major
I had been on the lookout for an internship for a few months. Then, JWU's experiential education team alerted me of an opportunity at TIAA-CREF. I applied immediately.
The next day, I received a request for a phone interview. That went well, and I met with my possible future manager for what seemed more like a conversation than an interview.
The next day, I received a call offering me the job.
Financial Experience I work with top management within Finance & Actuarial. I share an office with a woman who has been with TIAA-CREF for about 7 years, learning the ropes from her about compliance and records management.
One of my main jobs is to resurrect the quarterly department newsletter. I have also been keeping project managers on their toes about updating project progression and milestones.
Career Opportunities With a corporation there are always possibilities of growth and knowledge. My manager has been very influential and is happy to provide me with as much experience as I can gain while at TIAA-CREF.
