Be prepared for going through immigration upon your arrival to the U.S.
Have your original, signed I-20 ready to
show the immigration officer, along with your passport and US visa. Make
sure that your I-20 and your I-94 card are both stamped with “F-1,
D/S”; keep the stamped I-94 card in your passport.
If you submitted your travel plans to JWU
and are scheduled to arrive between 8am and 9pm, a representative from
JWU will meet you at the airport, bus station or train station and bring
you to the hotel or to your residence hall.
If you are staying at the hotel, check in
at the front desk. You will be given a JWU welcome folder, including an
initial schedule for your first few days on campus. The business day
after you arrive, a JWU representative will meet you at the hotel at
8:30am and will take you to the International Center, where we will
discuss everything that you must do before your classes begin. (Business
days are Mon-Fri, but do not include holidays.)
If you will be living on campus, a
representative from JWU will take you directly to your dorm where you
will be given a JWU welcome folder, including an initial schedule for
your first few days on campus.
