Andrew Mackie, PA-C, MPAS, has been in clinical practice for more than 20 years and has held a variety of teaching positions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Natural Science from Harvard University. He completed Yale’s Physician Associate program in 1991, and earned his master’s degree in PA Studies at the University of Nebraska.
He has worked clinically in internal medicine, cardiology and critical care. During his clinical work he had the opportunity to lead clinical teams and served on committees that focused on patient safety and implementation of evidence-based care.
He has lectured regularly for more than 10 years, and has a self-described “passion” for teaching and learning. He held a faculty appointment at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences’ Physician Assistant program. Most recently he spent 5 years as an academic coordinator for a post-graduate PA residency in critical care at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass. He enjoys bird watching in his spare time.
