Crime Scene Institute (CSI) Hands-on learning starts in the classroom, where your teachers are industry professionals with valuable insight and real life experience.

In our dedicated crime scene room and separate crime lab, you’ll analyze bullet trajectories, respond to simulated crime scenes, collect evidence, photograph scenes, and roll and develop fingerprints.

Internships Criminal justice majors can intern in police departments, law offices, courts, adult and juvenile corrections facilities, probation and parole departments, private security facilities, and a variety of government agencies.

You’ll jump start your career by gaining on the job experience that sets you apart from the competition. Best of all, you’ll make networking connections with leading employers.

You'll work with your faculty advisor and our Experiential Education & Career Services team from your first term to create a career plan, and make it happen.

The Mock Trial Experience
Working with real judges and attorneys, you'll develop public speaking skills, make concise and persuasive arguments and create a commanding presence in even the most challenging circumstances. You’ll learn to think fast, adapting to changing situations and even the most unanticipated suprises.

Community Service Service isn’t a hobby for JWU students; it’s a chance for you to become a leader. You’ll work on targeted community service projects that develop the skills you need while giving back to your community. 

Study Abroad
Hands-on learning extends across the globe for JWU students. Our Study Abroad program allows you to learn and train with experts in Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. You’ll gain crucial perspective in your field and make lasting career connections.
